Ackley Publishing Co. has maintained its full sized
letterpress printing department, including all of its hot metal typesetting
equipment – and is one of a very few shops across the country to still have a
functioning letterpress operation.
Letterpress printing is making a comeback, and the
popularity of that “embossed” look of the type letters actually pressed into the
paper is growing rapidly. The uniqueness of the letterpress look has found its
way into wedding invitations, business cards, note cards and stationery, and
many other printed items.
Ackley Publishing has an extensive selection of letterpress
printing type and equipment at its disposal – ready to produce unique printing
for you – in the old, original letterpress method. The extent of our presses and
typesetting machinery allow us a broad range of sizes and type of items we can
print with letterpress.
Our letterpress plant, is also available for tours and
demonstrations upon request, and we hope to be able to keep the letterpress
